On May 23, the award ceremony and excellent works exhibition of the 6th National University Student Green Design Competition (Dragon Star), co-hosted by HEBUST and Beijing Guanghua Design Development Foundation, was successfully held on campus. With the theme of "Exploring the 1% Optimal Solution for the Earth", the competition aims to guide young designers to focus on ecological protection and sustainable development issues. Since its launch, the competition has collected thousands of outstanding design works from more than 240 universities nationwide, fully demonstrating the innovative thinking and practical capabilities of contemporary college students in the field of green design. Meanwhile, the 7th National University Student Green Design Competition (Dragon Star) was officially launched. Li Tiejun, Xing Lei and Chen Hanqing jointly inaugurated the new session of the competition. As a national-level event held for six consecutive years, the competition has covered 30 provincial-level administrative regions across China, attracted participation from over 1,000 universities and more than 30,000 participants, achieving remarkable social benefits and widespread reputation. Committed to encouraging college students nationwide to engage in green design innovation, the competition promotes the efficient transformation of design achievements into applicable and commercial green products through the integrated innovation of green industrial chains, continuously boosting the industrial and high-quality development of green design in China.

Tian Baochuan, Dean of the School of Art, introduced the overall organization and achievements of the competition. Nearly 100 guests from more than 30 universities nationwide, including China Academy of Art, Nanjing University of the Arts, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Hebei University of Technology, Tianjin University of Science and Technology and Yanshan University, attended the event.
